Technically they don’t have the same engine! That 500 Sport would have the 1,4L non-turbo Multiair with 101 or so horsepower and the 500L would have the 160hp 1.4L Turbo Multiair, so the base engine is the same I guess, but they aren’t the same format...?

That's a good point. I forgot that the 500L gets the turbo.

No problem! I think current 500s get the Turbo by default now, though detuned, so a 130hp turbo
version of the 1,4L Multiair (the same that was in the 500 Turbo...the 500 Abarth has the 160hp version).
FIATs are my jam, so... :P

Yes I know, we've talked about them a few times. Mine is a 2012 sport so no turbo for me.

She still treating you well? I'm still considering one to replace my Accent! :)

Ruby is doing well. She’s up to about 77,000 miles now.
Like we've discussed before, the manual transmission and traction control don't always play nice in the snow, so if you need to do a lot of snowy driving, be careful. I really like the 6 speed automatic in mine, and I'd honestly like this car less if it had a manual (and I like manuals).

That’s a 500L Lounge, too.

It belongs to my girlfriend's brother. He seems to like it, but I've never had the chance to ride in it.

Good family car, as long as it’s a later build with the conventional automatic trans. We used to have one.

Just curious: is there any reason that you found yourself looking at a 2 month old post? Did it get linked somewhere?

Kinja probably peddling stuff. I’ve mistakenly commented on posts that were years old that somehow got recommended on the left bar.

I pretty much only use kinja on mobile, so I forget that the left bar exists.
